3 Reasons To Commission A Custom Quilt

3 Reasons To Commission A Custom Quilt

Hello! Thank you for checking out my first ever blog post. Today we're going to be talking about the top three reasons why you might decide to commission a custom quilt. As a quilter with decades of experience, making my own projects and many, many quilts for others, I have boiled the benefits of custom work into three distinct and important reasons.

1. Full Customization

The best reason when ordering custom work is that, well, it's custom! You get to decide on every detail of your quilt. The theme, block design, color combinations, fabrics, and pantograph (the decorative stitching on your quilt) are all options for you to personalize. You can see above, even working with the same block design, the starblanket, that each quilts looks beautiful, distinct, and has it's own unique personality.

Investing in personal art for your own home is an opportunity to express yourself and add a touch of spirit and vibrancy to your surroundings, this is true for all art forms, but especially with quilts because it's not just art, but art you get to snuggle up with!

2. Invest in Quality

Have you ever purchased a comforter set from a big box store, only for it to be dull, ragged, or even falling apart in a few years? A custom quilt wont hurt you like that. Since I've been in the business for so long, I can confidentially say with proper care your quilt will last decades.

I have quilts in my personal collection that I made when my daughter was a baby that are in perfect condition, from over two decades ago! These quilts have been puked on, dragged through the dirt, made into blanket forts, you name it, and they still look just as beautiful as when I first made them. You can see one of them in the banner above, the pink, blue, and yellow quilt on the far right side!

3. Support Artistry And Small Business

I've been quilting and creating textile art since I was a little girl, and it is a dream come true to be able to make a living doing what I love. Every order I receive go towards that dream. I work with a growing circle of local artists and Canadian owned fabric suppliers to create my art, so the money I make has the added benefit of going back into the local creative community.

Plus, when you order a custom piece from me, not only are you helping support me as an artist, but also my small family business! Dazzle Me Creative is a collaboration between me and several family members. So not only is your dollar going towards helping me live my dream of creating beautiful art for a living, you're helping put food on multiple tables!
